West Maui Private Sightseeing Adventure Tour Features
West Maui Shield Volcano
You’ve no doubt heard of Haleakala, but two distinct dormant volcanoes formed Maui island. The majestic Haleakala, towering at an impressive 10,023 feet, dominates the eastern region, while the West Maui shield volcano (Halemahina), erupting a million years ago, reaches a height of 5,788 feet. Over countless millennia, the forces of nature have sculpted the breathtaking West Maui Mountains, with their steep slopes and awe-inspiring landscapes. Delight in the remarkable wonders that time and erosion have created, and immerse yourself in the sheer magnificence of the West Maui Mountains.
A Unique Village In Where Time Stands Still
Explore the enchanting Kahakuloa Bay, a hidden gem in Hawaii. This secluded community is home to a small population of approximately 100 residents, most of whom are descendants of the original inhabitants.
Immerse yourself in the rich history of this old fishing village, which has been a sanctuary for the indigenous people of Maui since approximately 300 B.C. The coastline is adorned with humble homes and lush taro fields, where many villagers work and thrive.
The journey to Kahakuloa is an adventure, with the only access being the scenic yet challenging Kahekili Highway. Experience the allure of this remote town, where tranquility meets tradition and beauty surrounds every corner.
Nakalele Point Blowhole
Experience the power of nature at Nakalele Point's breathtaking blowhole. This spectacular phenomenon draws both locals and tourists with its explosive eruptions of water and air, creating an exhilarating sight. Stand back and witness the forceful jets shooting out from this partially submerged underwater cave while keeping yourself at a safe distance. You will probably still feel the salty spray, though! Don't miss the chance to witness this amazing display of nature's might.

Tour Description
An unforgettable 5-6 hour adventure along the mystical coast of Maui's western volcano. This exclusive tour takes you off the beaten path, exploring hidden gems rarely seen by tourists. Start by immersing yourself in the beauty of a secluded stream with tranquil pools and cascading waterfalls. As we ascend the narrow mountain road, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the rugged and dramatic coastline.
Our journey continues to a cliff-top gallery showcasing the incredible works of over 100 local artisans. Discover unique jewelry, art pieces, and home decor that capture the essence of Hawaiian culture. Next, we head to the native Hawaiian village of Kahakuloa, where we invite you to tantalize your taste buds with their renowned Banana Bread and Lilikoi (passion fruit) butter.
Venturing further, we encounter the remote bellstone fields, remnants of Halemahina's volcanic eruption. When tapped, these hollow stones create haunting sounds, allowing you to create your own music in nature's symphony. For the adventurous souls, an optional trail leads to the Olivine Tide Pools, where you can observe vibrant marine life.
As we transition from the narrow road to a paved highway, we arrive at Nakalele Point, a magnificent coastal wonder. Witness the spectacular eruption of water as waves pass beneath a lava shelf, creating a natural spectacle like a geyser or a whale's blow hole. Brace yourself for sprays reaching over 100 feet into the air, an awe-inspiring sight.
We’ll stop at Honolua Bay and take a tranquil forest walk through the lush jungle, where the fragrant scents of honeysuckle and passion fruit fill the air and absorb the rejuvenating energy of this sacred place.
We will also spend some time in the ʻĪao Valley, discovering the sunken caldera of Maui's western volcano and marveling at the majestic valley walls adorned with cascading waterfalls.
Conclude this incredible expedition with a visit to Hawaii's largest collection of ancient petroglyphs. Experience the native way of life chiseled into the very bedrock of Maui. And if you're visiting from December to May, don't miss the opportunity for whale watching along the coast, where we'll make several stops to catch glimpses of these magnificent creatures.
