This incredible full day tour starts with a pickup at major hotels and resorts along the Kona coast. Depending on where you are staying, pickup times will range anywhere from 6:00am to 7:30am.
As the driving tour begins, your guide will head towards the rolling hills of South Kona where some of the best coffee in the world is grown and cultivated. This region is known for incredible views and lookout points which your guide will stop off at along the way. At one of the Kona coffee farms you and your fellow guests will get to savor a delicious continental breakfast. Afterwards, you will continue along the Kona coast to visit Punaluu Black Sand Beach before stopping at a local cafe for a late morning snack or coffee.
Next stop on the tour is likely what you came to the Big Island to see, which is none other than Volcanoes National Park. Before heading into the park itself, your guide will make a stop so that you can enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch. Once inside the national park, be prepared to see an active volcano, as well as countless craters and lava tubes created by centuries of geo-thermal activity.
Circling around the bottom of the Big Island will bring you into the dense vegetation surrounding Hilo. This jungle town is one of the rainiest places in the world, but that doesn’t stop it from being the colorful and bustling town that it is. Just outside of Hilo is Rainbow Falls, which is the next major stop on the tour. Following the coast onward, your guide will give you some insight into the historical significance of major areas as well as make numerous stops along the way so you can enjoy the views and take pictures. The last major stop on the tour is the beautiful Waipio Valley which was the childhood home of King Kamehameha I. After a 10-12 hour day exploring some of the Big Island’s most incredible natural landmarks, you will be dropped off at your resort, condo, or hotel.
